Rusty’s owner got in touch as she was looking for a local dog artist and based in Devon I wasn’t too far away. Very sadly Rusty passed away not too long ago and her owners thought what a good way to cherish all the happy memories and have a realistic painting of her.
Devon Dog Artist
I haven’t done many action shot paintings so really enjoyed having the opportunity to paint from this image.
What makes a good realistically styled painting is to be able to capture the individual character of your pet. Doesn’t Rusty look so happy in this moment, captured in time. Running freely through the field with an almost human smile of her face!
I framed the painting in a beautiful bespoke mottled brown and copper chunky wood frame. With an inner distressed gold rim, which set it off perfectly. Art Glass is recommended and even though it is a little more expensive, the cost is really worth it! It almost looks as though there is no glass there when viewing as it has optimum clarity.
If you are interested in having a dog painting of your loving best friend, please get in touch. Please let me know the timescale you would like to receive your portrait, as bookings are busy. Usual lead-time is 3-6 months.
